Purpose of Position
The GDUK Manufacturing Engineer Apprenticeship Scheme will operate over a four year period and will enable the individual to gain an appreciation of the four Production disciplines within GDUK which are:
- Process control,
- Master scheduling,
- Plant support.
The apprentice will also get the opportunity to work in multi-disciplined Production teams and gain knowledge and skills in configuration management, bill of materials (BoM), Lean manufacturing, standard operating procedures, test strategies, production planning, plant facilities, work-package management and customer interaction.
Undertake a range of tasks suited to the current level of training and development
Attend college and complete course work on time and to a high standard
Produce, maintain and be responsible for content, accuracy and sign off of log books
Take on additional responsibility in Years 3 & 4 ofthe Apprenticeship
Understand and complete all work related documentation accurately and on time
Understand and comply with policies and procedures
Carry out work in a safe and diligent manner
Comply with all Health & Safety policies and procedures
Attend and fully participate regular training and development reviews with line management, mentor and HR representatives
To undertake additional duties in line with capabilities as required
A minimum of 5 G.C.S.E grades A-C including Math’s, English and Science
Be both self-motivated, act with professionalism and able to work within a team.
Excellent IT Skills including Microsoft Package applications
Have good written and verbal communication skills.
Be organised and able to prioritise their work.
Be flexible in their approach to their work.
Be able to perform tasks on their own initiative.
Be enthusiastic and driven towards achieving their goals.
